GIVENCHY
House of Givenchy was founded in 1952 by designer Hubert de Givenchy and is a member of: Chambre Syndicate of Haute Couture et du Pret-a-Porter. House leadership was taken over by Givenchy Riccardo Tiscali in 2005, when he was appointed chief designer women's clothing line. Tiscali's apparent fascination with the gothic accents (black dresses, apathetic) and minimalist trend, have attracted new attention on the brand. Opinions and criticisms have been mixed and inconsistent, but many, including influential fashion critics (Cathy Horyn from New York Times and Suzy Menkes of the International Herald Tribune), have shown somewhat reticent about Tiscali's concepts and the Givenchy brand revitalization.
